Love Island’s Hayley Hughes claims the show was edited to make her look dim
The reality star famously asked whether Brexit would leave the UK without trees, and she didn't know who Theresa May was
LOVE Island's Hayley Hughes has accused the show of editing her to look thick.
The reality star's intelligence was a hot topic during her brief tenure in the villa, with many of her greatest gaffes going viral.

But now Hayley claims some of the material shown was taken out of context.
She told the : “There were conversations viewers didn’t see.
"I wasn’t just sitting there saying Brexit would affect the trees – there was more to it.
“Obviously, the show is only an hour long and they have to clip it down. So what I was saying didn’t make sense. It looked like I’d just come out with anything.

“I got so much judgement even though I said what everybody else was thinking. I don’t think many people have a clue about Brexit.”
Hayley was dubbed reality TV’s thickest star when she was sent packing from the villa in June.
The 21-year-old stunned ITV2 viewers by revealing she did not know what Brexit was and asked fellow contestants: “Does that mean we won’t have any trees?”
And in an interview with The Sun after her departure, she could not name Theresa May as Prime Minister.

She said: “I don’t really understand it [politics] to be honest.”
But the model, from Liverpool, insisted being on Love Island was “an education” and that she learned a lot from the other contestants.
She added: “I can’t really remember that comment [about Brexit], but I have more of an understanding what Brexit is now.

“I have learned a lot since I’ve been in there so that’s a good thing. The biggest thing I learned is that I have to be true to myself.”
Viewers mocked the beauty queen after her Brexit comment and for also claiming not to know what earlobes are. One tweeted: “Hayley might just be the thickest person to ever grace my TV screen.”
Another added: “Hayley just said ‘What’s an earlobe?’ I refuse to believe she is that stupid.”
