Rock megastar to return to the stage after his band retires in wake of global fame and 75m record sales

A ROCK megastar is set to return to the stage after his band retired following global fame and 75m record sales.
As a group they made their debut in the 70s and went on to become one of the world's most iconic rock bands.
Kiss retired from live touring last year and now it's been confirmed that Gene Simmons will play his first solo performance since later this year.
Gene, 74, will take to the stage for Brazilian rock festival Summer Breeze in April.
He'll be joined by The Gene Simmons band and it comes after he last performed solo in 2018.
After Kiss played their final concert in New York last year, they surprised fans with digital versions of themselves created by the team behind the ABBA Voyage show.

Opening up about the group's retirement recently, Gene told The Sun: "It’s the end of the touring band because we have enough self-respect,” he continues. “We don’t want to be like boxers who stay in the ring too long.
“If I was in the Rolling Stones, who are great by the way, I could strum a guitar wearing sneakers and T-shirt and it would be fine.
“I admire Mick Jagger for pushing the limits but I can’t keep doing it with 40lb of studs and armour and eight-inch heels.”
