Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford reveals intimate birth pictures and admits her son Jack looked like an alien

LOOSE Women star Ruth Langsford has shared intimate pictures of herself and her son Jack just moments after his birth.

The 56-year-old brought in pictures from home to show to the Loose Women audience and admitted getting the “perfect picture” was impossible.

Ruth’s aim to get the right snap just moments after the birth was initially scuppered by her husband Eamonn Holmes after the camera he’d brought in ran out of batteries.

Ruth explained: “I thought to myself, don’t argue with him, this is a really precious moment.

“Eamonn went and got an Instamatic camera and unfortunately I didn’t get the gorgeous celebrity picture I was hoping for.

“I was exhausted, I look awful.”

The TV veteran also explained her first pictures of Jack weren’t what she’d hoped for either, comparing him to an alien.

Ruth joked: “June the hospital photographer wanted to take a picture of Jack. She had a step ladder and a blanket and was taking pictures but in the end, he looked like an alien.”

Ruth’s fellow Loose Women panellists Saira Khan, Penny Lancaster and Linda Robson doubled up with laughter as a picture of little Jack, who’s now 14, appeared on screen.

Birds Of A Feather star Linda has just become a grandmother for the second time after her 33-year-old daughter Lauren gave birth to a baby girl on Monday.

Speaking about the new addition to the family, Linda gushed: “It’s just as exciting the second time around – she’s absolutely beautiful.”

Lauren’s birth didn’t go to plan however as just days before her due date she discovered the baby, who’s yet to be named, was a lot bigger than expected.

Linda explained: “I went on Friday for the scan and they measured her and said you’ve got quite a big baby.

“Then she called someone in for a second opinion and they told us the baby was going to be 11lbs – it made me squeeze my legs together.”
