Oscars 2025: Anora wins five awards as Wicked settles for just two gongs

DEMI Moore looked furious at the Oscars as she lost out on the Best Actress award to Anora’s leading lady Mikey Madison.
Hosted by comedian and TV personality Conan O'Brien, the 2025 Oscars saw highs and blows galore.
Demi could be seen gritting her teeth as her name wasn't called - but she whispered "nice" while clapping the Hollywood newcomer, who picked up the coveted gong for her role as a sex worker who marries the son of an oligarch.
The biggest winner of the night was Anora, collecting five gongs including awards for Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and of course, Best Actress.
Timothée Chalamet missed out on the Best Actor Oscar after playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, but he did get a kiss from girlfriend Kylie Jenner.
The prize went to Adrien Brody for his role in The Brutalist. And in a bizarre moment, Brody chucked his chewing gum at his girlfriend before collecting the statuette.

I’m Still Here wins Oscar for Best International Film
It's a tragedy that director Walter Salles wasn't given more time to discuss this extraordinary film.
The movie is based on the true story of Eunice Paiva, whose husband Rubens was suddenly “disappeared” and murdered under Brazil's military dictatorship during the 1970s.
Ho hum, he's got an Oscar now!

About time this masterpiece received a gong - congratulations to Lol Crawley.
The movie was shot almost entirely on VistaVision, a format last used in Hollywood in the 1960s.
