Why did Ekin-Su and Davide from Love Island split?

EKIN-SU Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti are one of the most high-profile couples to have appeared on Love Island.
However, they split a year after meeting and now Ekin-Su is hoping for a second shot at love as she enters the Love Island: All Stars 2025 villa.
Ekin-Su entered the villa in 2022, as a bombshell on the third day of Love Island season eight.
She began a romance with Davide, but they quickly ran into problems as Ekin-Su secretly kissed Jay Younger.
Davide famously accused his partner of being a "liar" and an "actress", but the pair managed to make it to the end of the show - and WIN.
After leaving the villa, the couple launched a series named Ekin-Su And Davide: Homecomings.
The series saw the pair returning to their hometowns in Italy and Turkey.
Sadly, the pair split in 2023 before briefly reconciling.
They broke up again, for the final time, in January 2024.
Ekin-Su broke the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
She posted: "The last 18 months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, just like every relationship.
"Davide and I both wanted to make this relationship work as we cared deeply for each other.
"Unfortunately, I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways.
"Breakups are never easy for any couple, and we hope that our privacy will be respected at this time.
"I enjoyed our time together and will cherish the memories we made.
She added: "Thank you for your continued support.
"It's been so lovely to have you follow our Love Island journeys together since the villa and we hope you'll continue to follow our careers as we go off in our own directions."
While appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, Ekin-Su told Marisha Wallace that Davide had "hurt her".
Ekin-Su added that she believed that she was more interested in Davide than he was in her.
Davide has also opened up about their split, but he says that they made a "joint decision" to break up.
He added that, despite the fact that he "saw a future" for the pair, that people "grow apart".
It was revealed by The Sun that Davide had been messaging a woman named Harriet Wilson.
On her Homecomings TV series, Ekin-Su saw a picture of two women wearing Davide's hoodies.
Opening up about the revelation, she said: “I was conscious of the cameras and I didn’t want to come across like a psychopath going off on him. But it was like a knife through my heart.
"I’d actually been introduced to one of the girls at a New Year’s Eve party.
“She was really sweet to me and asked if I wanted to go for coffee sometime.”
Ekin-Su also shocked fans by saying that Davide had made a fake proposal to her.
She says that was the moment that she realised their relationship was over, but Davide has claimed that this is false.
He went on to call her a "liar", an "actress" and "fake like a Louis Vuitton from China".
Ekin-Su will be returning to the villa on January, 13, 2025, as a cast member on Love Island: All Stars.
She will be joined by fellow fan-favourites Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville.
According to one TV source, Ekin-Su was the "number one priority for casting producers".
They added: "Ekin's in her 30s now too, she really wants to meet someone genuine who she can settle down with and after seeing it happen for last year's All Stars winners, she's keeping her fingers crossed she can be next."
