WITH summer fast approaching, there is no better time to find the best water parks.

Here we take a look at the best water parks in the world - with Spain taking the No1 spot.

The top water parks have been voted for by TripAdvisor in their annual awards.

The 2022 Travellers’ Choice Awards analyses both the quantity and quality of millions of reviews and ratings to determine the winner.

Unsurprisingly, England doesn't feature in the top list due to a lack of water parks across the country.

Here are the best ones to add to your list next time you go on holiday.

1. Siam Park, Spain

Opened by the Princess of Thailand in 2008, Siam Park really is royalty among water parks - it has been number one seven times.

It boasts over 30 breathtaking rides and holds several world records, including the creation of the world’s largest man-made wave.

For fans of the park, a second one is planned for neighbouring Gran Canaria.

Hot Park features in the 2022 list of top water parks.

Temperatures range from 23ºC to 32ºC throughout the year.

The Brazil attraction has over 20 attractions for all the family with a Pier for adults to relax and enjoy a drink.

All the family will love Praia do Cerrado, the largest artificial beach with naturally warm waters in the world.

3. Waterbom Bali, Indonesia

Set in 3.8 hectares of landscaped tropical parks, Waterbom prides itself on being 68 per cent garden.

In between making the most of the lush surroundings and world-class rides, you can sip on a tropical drink at the park’s swim-up bar.

Stay late and you can take advantage of after-hours parties in the park during the high season, with world-class DJs.

4. Parco Cavour, Valeggio Sul Mincio, Italy

This water park is considered the greenest park in Italy, but is only open from June 2 until September 3, 2023.

Attractions include Iceburg, a six-lane multi-track slide, and Rainforest - a path for the most daring to negotiate.

Paradise Island is great for the little ones, featuring a great whirlpool, slides and a sand bottom.

5. Paphos Aphrodite Waterpark, Paphos, Cyprus

The park in Cyprus features tube water slides as well as the 50ft Free Fall ride.

It also includes a lazy river and wave pool.

Wet Bubble and Mini Volcano areas are available for small children.

Yas Waterworld has over 40 rides, slides and attractions.

Hamlool's Humps is a speed ride with three massive humps, while Liwa Loop is the first freefall drop waterslide in the region.

Slithers Slides features two sharp turns, dropping through a water curtain into darkness lit by tiny lights, with an exit into a landing pool.

Cannon Point is a family spray and play area.

Atlantis Aquaventure is part of the iconic Atlantic Hotel in the United Arab Emirates.

Adrenalin junkies can get their fix at the water park including the near-vertical Leap of Faith slide which drops 30 metres before shooting you through a tube of shark-infested waters.

You can get your pulse racing on over 150 slides and attractions, including Dubai’s longest Lazy River, and relax on 500m of private beach.

All ages can enjoy Aqua Dome with slides, lazy rivers and rapids for the kids, along with a spa and golf course for the adults.

With its water activities and mini golf as main attractions, it is an activity centre not to be missed.

Don't worry if it rains - lots of the water park is undercover with tropical temperatures all year round.

Aquapark Istralandia was the first ever water park to open in Croatia, in 2014.

With 20 different pools and slides, there is something for everyone at Aquapark Istralandia - including the largest wave pool in the Med.

Spread over 81,000 m2, the waterpark has more than 1.6km of tube slides, with a range of speeds for both adults and children.

Disney fans won't be surprised to see one of the parks make the cut.

Typhoon Lagoon, which opened in 1989, is one of the most visited water parks in the world.

Hardly surprising, as the park is home to one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools, where guests can hang ten in a private surf lesson.

Spread over 126,000 m2, Al Montazah Parks has two sections - Pearl Kingdom and Island of Legends.

Part of the Jungle Park Resort in Hurghada, there are a whopping 35 water slides and 33 outdoor swimming pools.

As well as pools, saunas, ecological walks and artificial rapids the park also features a 14 storey water slide for the hardened adrenaline addicts.

Located in Mahahual in Quintana Roo - south of Cancun and Tulum - there are also lazy rivers, zip lines and swimming pools on-site.
