Tony Pulis fires back at West Brom chairman John Williams as row with board hots up
Pulis claimed the club had failed to deliver the five ‘marquee’ signings he wanted in the summer transfer window

WEST BROM boss Tony Pulis today blasted chairman John Williams as his row with the Baggies board intensified.
Pulis claimed the club had failed to deliver the five ‘marquee’ signings he wanted in the summer transfer window.
And he hit back at a statement by Williams claiming the club had met Pulis’s wishes.
Williams claimed deadline day claiming Albion had delivered the five players Pulis wanted after they signed Matt Phillips, Brendan Galloway, Nacer Chadli, Allan Nyom and Hal Robson-Kanu during the summer.
But Pulis said: “The five players that John has said I was happy with, they weren't the marquee players I wanted to bring in.
“But we've brought the players in and we've got to get on with it.

“And there's all sort of different reasons why those players weren't brought in, but to try and say they were the five that I wanted, that's wrong.
“I've spoken to John about it and I think he accepts that.
“But we've got players in, now everything’s got to be battened down and we've got to move on.”
But Pulis dismissed claims he considered quitting after the disappointing deadline day.
He added: “This club is different to any club I've been at before in the way it's managed.
“There are people around doing different things that I've never had. It's been a good experience for me and I want to get through it, with that experience.”
