Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake becomes second Brit to run sub-10secs 100m and sub-20secs 200m

NETHANEEL MITCHELL-BLAKE has become the second Brit to run the 100 metres in under 10 seconds and the 200m below 20 seconds.
The Londoner today added a 9.99secs in the blue riband event to the 19.95 he ran last year in the longer distance.
Mitchell-Blake completed his landmark double when running for Louisiana State University in the 100m final at the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships
He becomes the second Brit sprinter after Adam Gemili to achieve sub-10 second 100m and sub-20 second 200m.
The 200m specialist powered back in the final 40 metres at South Carolina's Cregger Track to finish just 0.02secs behind Tennessee's Christian Coleman.
Mitchell-Blake, 23, is only the seventh Brit to run a sub-10secs 100m.
He is also just the second LSU athlete to achieve it and their first ever sprinter to pull off the 100m and 200m "sub-double".
Quickest of the Brits is 1992 Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie, who managed the feat nine times and had a personal best of 9.87s.
The others to break 10 secs are James Dasaolu twice (PB 9.91), Chijindu Ujah (9.96), Dwain Chambers five times (PB 9.97), Jason Gardener (9.98) and Gemili (9.97).
