Premier League Darts LIVE RESULTS: Luke Littler BEATS Humphries in epic final as Cool Hand picks up cut finger – latest

LUKE LITTLER is off the mark in the Premier League Darts after winning a thrilling Night 2 final 6-5 against Luke Humphries.

Defending champ Littler had thrashed Michael van Gerwen 6-2 in the semi-final after fighting back from 5-1 down to overcome Rob Cross 6-5 in the quarters.

Humphries - who was playing with a cut finger - leads the table after his win on the opening night in Belfast and his runner-up spot last night.

  • Price 'so happy' despite whistle-gate

Gerwyn Price focused on being "so happy" to land his Premier League points of the season - rather than the way he gave whistlers a taste of their own medicine.

The Iceman finally responded to heckles - by turning round following a 180 against Luke Humphries in the semi-finals and whistling back at the offending spectators.

Price has previously even worn ear defenders to try to block out boos - but that was at the 2023 World Championship.

Humphries went on to beat Price and lose to Luke Littler in last night's Prem Night Two final.

But Price posted on Instagram: “So happy to get some points on the board this week [smiling emoji].

“Dublin next week [love heart face emoji]. One of my favourite venues and crowds…. 2 down 15 to go.”

  • More 'weird' than wonderful

Luke Littler reckons his 6-5 Prem clincher over big rival Luke Humphries was more odd than outstanding.

The Nuke told Sky Sports: “It was a weird final.

We both weren’t playing well. Now and then I looked up at the screen and we were both on a 90 average.

“The crowd got involved. When Luke went 5-4 up, I thought just break him and I did well to hit an 11-darter. That was crucial.

“Getting past Rob, the comeback was unbelievable. I felt really confident against Michael and the final was a weird, weird game.”

  • Darts chiefs warn misbehaving fans

Darts chiefs have condemned whistling fans after last night's Premier League debacle.

And they warned fans they could be thrown out if such antics are repeated.

A PDC statement read: "Following Thursday's Premier League Darts night in Glasgow, the PDC wishes to strongly reiterate that it does not condone any behaviour which can disrupt an event, such as whistling or booing when players are throwing.

"Every player goes on stage with the intention of performing to the best of their ability and providing an entertaining spectacle for all fans, whether in the venue or watching worldwide.

"As per the terms and conditions of entry to events, spectators who act inappropriately can be removed from the venue.

"The PDC works closely with Premier League venues, who have responsibility for crowd control, to take proactive and decisive action against those who behave inappropriately.

"The vast majority of fans who attend our sell-out events on a regular basis also condemn this behaviour and we will continue to promote a positive atmosphere which gives all players the opportunity to play to the best of their ability in every match."

  • 'You made it worse!'

Luke Littler says that furious top oche stars have to IGNORE the whistles.

The world champion won the Premier League night two at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow as a row erupted over fan behaviour.

Littler, 18, and World No.1 Luke Humphries had their final clash almost ruined by the crowd trying to put them off at vital moments.

When referee Kirk Bevins stepped in to tell the moron minority to stop whistling, it then disrupted The Nuke’s throw.

But Littler remained calm during the storm to pick up the £10k prize for his first win since taking the world crown.

When asked about the whistling, he responded: “Obviously, there were a few in particular that were doing it when Luke was throwing.

“Then when Kirk told them to be quiet, it got even worse. And then I missed doubles.

“Luke breaks at 5-4 and I am just like: ‘Kirk, you have made it worse for me’. I’m 5-4 down. But, no, I broke back and held my throw quite strongly.

“But I think it’s best off if they don’t whistle at us. We just want to play our darts."

  • 'Definitely'

Phil Taylor has revealed the huge sum of money that would tempt him back to the oche.

  • Littler on comeback vs Rob Cross

Night Two winner Luke Littler found himself 5-1 down in his quarter-final against Rob Cross last night.

But the world champion wasn't phased and reeled off five straight legs to beat Voltage and progress to the semi-finals.

Speaking on the magnificent comeback, Littler said: "I was down 5-1 and then you get a few legs on the bounce and my confidence, it just hit the roof and I managed to pull it back."

  • PDC condemns whistling

Darts bosses have condemned the whistling that marred the Glasgow Premier League night – and vowed to stamp out any future “inappropriate” behaviour.

A PDC Statement said: “The PDC wishes to strongly reiterate that it does not condone any behaviour which can disrupt an event, such as whistling or booing when players are throwing.

“Every player goes on stage with the intention of performing to the best of their ability and providing an entertaining spectacle for all fans, whether in the venue or watching worldwide.

“As per the terms and conditions of entry to events, spectators who act inappropriately can be removed from the venue.

“The PDC works closely with Premier League venues, who have responsibility for crowd control, to take proactive and decisive action against those who behave inappropriately.

“The vast majority of fans who attend our sell-out events on a regular basis also condemn this behaviour.

“And we will continue to promote a positive atmosphere which gives all players the opportunity to play to the best of their ability in every match.”

  • 'It was emotional'

Stephen Bunting admitted he started CRYING on stage before his opening Premier League clash last week.

he said: “It was very emotional. I expected it to be good but I didn't expect it to be as good as it was.

“Just the whole crowd all supporting me and getting behind me. It welled me up when I got on stage and the tears started flowing.

“It has been a 10-year journey to get back into the Premier League, so there were a lot of emotions running high anyway and it just spilled over a bit.

“The nerves were still there in the game and unfortunately I didn’t get a win.

“Obviously the first week there were no expectations and it was just getting back into the big venues with big crowds and getting used to that again.

“Now that I have had that monkey off my back, I am just really looking forward to the next few weeks."

  • Humphries suffers unexpected injury

Luke Humphries suffered an unexpected injury while practicing ahead of last night's event in Dublin.

The world No1 cut his finger while withdrawing his darts from the practice board earlier in the night.

He later wrote on X: "A difficult night all round, and I just fell short in the end. An unexpected finger injury didn't help either.

"Fair play to [Luke Littler] and I'll be back next week to do it all again in Dublin."

  • Littler vs Humphries final blighted by ‘worst crowd in history’

THE referee was forced into disciplining fans during Luke Littler's Premier League darts victory in Glasgow.

And the match was not without controversy due to shocking fan behaviour inside Glasgow's OVO Hydro Arena.

A group of supporters interfered with play by annoyingly whistling while both men were at the oche.

Humphries, who was struggling with a cut on his finger, and Littler were both seen getting increasingly frustrated by the distracting noises.

And then in a crucial moment with the score 4-4, Cool Hand appeared to be impacted by the crowd.

Humphries needed 119 to check out but managed just 59.

He shook his head towards referee Kirk Bevins, who then angrily shouted down the microphone: "Stop whistling".

However, it had the opposite affect and more fans then joined in.

It put off Littler, who stepped up to the board needing just 45 but busted his score.

Sky Sports commentator Wayne Mardle said: "That person needs to be careful because Kirk can do kung-fu."

After the whistling continued, he added: "Why is this person not ejected?"

  • Morning darts fans

On this day of love, finding someone who celebrates you the way Luke Littler celebrates reeling in big finishes.

The Nuke was 5-1 down to Rob Cross last night in the quarter final before winning five legs on the bounce, thumping Michael van Gerwen in the semis and knocking in a 170 checkout on his way to beating world number one Luke Humphries.

That boy just loves winning and it didn't take him long to get on the winner's podium in this Premier League.

He's up to second in the table and pockets another £10,000 in the process.

The Microsoft store will be loving that with some important FC25 points likely to be purchased.

The Premier League moves on to Ireland next week!

  • Littler on his stunning comeback against Rob Cross

Premier League Darts Night Two winner Luke Littler found himself 5-1 down in his quarter-final against Rob Cross last night.

But the world champion wasn't phased by the challenge ahead and reeled off five straight legs to beat Voltage and progress to the semi-finals.

Speaking on the magnificent comeback, Littler said: "I was down 5-1 and then you get a few legs on the bounce and my confidence, it just hit the roof and I managed to pull it back."

  • Big fish

Littler admitted when talking to Sky Sports that he was disappointed with how the final went as neither player really played too well.

He perked RIGHT up when the 170 checkout was mentioned - something he celebrated quite ferociously.

On the big fish, all he had to say was: "That was good. It's been a while since I hit one!"

  • Level headed

A cut near the nail of his middle finger played havoc with Luke Humphries in last night's final.

Slightly ironic as he spoke before the game about the need to enjoy every moment as injury could come and take it all away at any moment!

Granted, it won't keep him out for long but he said: “Stay grounded. Anything can be taken away from you, at the click of a finger. You never know how long you have got in this game.

“You could break your arm. Lose form. Anything can happen. For me, I will always stay humble. I really appreciate being in the Premier League.

“Nights like these you remember, they keep the juices flowing. I love moments like these. They really make me feel good.”
