Leicester look to certain to return to the Championship after an underwhelming top-flight campaign.
The Foxes are anchored in 19th position in the relegation zone and a full 15 points adrift from safety with eight matches remaining.
An instant return to the Championship beckons with the club after a run of eight-consecutive defeats in all competitions, and only one league victory in their last 16.
The Foxes became the first team in top-flight history to lose seven successive home games without scoring, having now not found the net in the league at the King Power Stadium since 8 December.
Van Nistelrooy's only reprieve is that the club's supporters are focused on Leicester's hierarchy with director of football Jon Rudkin and chief executive Susan Whelan the main focus of their frustration.
"We can't and we won't give up - we will fight 'til the end," Van Nistelrooy said.
"As I said, mathematically until it's impossible, we keep going. We want to show that we can score goals, that we can get a clean sheet at this level and pick up points."
Leicester take on Newcastle United tonight before difficult clashes against Brighton, Liverpool and Wolves.

Ange Postecoglou is next in the betting market at 15/8.
The Australian has guided Tottenham to the quarter-finals of the Europa League as he looks to land a first trophy for the club since 2008.
But Tottenham still look increasingly likely to finish outside the top 10 for the first time in 17 years despite a 3-1 win over Southampton last time out.
Six Premier League bosses have relieved of their duties during the 2024/25 campaign.
Manchester United's Erik ten Hag was the first casualty back in October, followed by Leicester's Steve Cooper less than a month later.
Wolves' Gary O'Neil and Southampton's Russell Martin were axed on December 15th before Julen Lopetegui was dismissed at the London Stadium after just six months in charge.
Sean Dyche was the latest top-flight manager to have been sacked, which is already double the overhaul of the entire 2023/24 campaign where only Paul Heckingbottom, Steve Cooper and Roy Hodgson left their positions.
