Brits bask in temperatures hotter than Ibiza as they enjoy balmy weekend
SUN-SEEKERS baked in temperatures topping Ibiza yesterday.
The hottest place in the UK was Coningsby, Lincs, at 32.2C (89F) — equalling this year’s record and almost 3C more than the Spanish party isle.

People made the most of yesterday’s scorcher by flocking to beaches, with Durdle Door in Dorset among those packed.
Large crowds also hit Bournemouth and Brighton.
Revellers at Glastonbury enjoyed 26C (78.8F) amid warnings by organisers on keeping cool.
They were urged to drink water from the 800-plus taps across Worthy Farm at which many filled large containers to pour over pals.

Music lovers were also advised to seek shade, wear sunscreen and a hat, of which many were on show.
The punishing heat equalled the sizzling 32.2C seen at Chertsey in Surrey on June 10.
But some weren’t so lucky as rain and thunderstorms hit in the north.
The weather is set to cool off from today.

Despite the sun, the weekend was marred by tragedy for some.
A five-year-old boy died on Saturday after falling 13ft from a sea wall near one of chef Rick Stein’s restaurants at Padstow, Cornwall.
He was airlifted to Bristol Hospital but died of his injuries following what police called a “tragic accident”.
The local lad’s parents were with him when he died.
Also on Saturday, a girl of 15 died after being pulled from the sea at Cleethorpes, Lincs.
She and a lad, also 15, were spotted “some way” from the beach.
Both were airlifted to hospital but she died yesterday.
The boy’s condition was not known.
